General Information

Welcome to Whittington Church - we look forward to having you join us for worship! Please take time to explore the website and, more especially, to visit us in person.

About our church family:  Whittington is an active and growing parish.Although we serve firstly the Parish of Whittington (and have very strong links with the village school), we also draw in people from a wider area. There are excellent community relationships between the Church, Village hall and School. We work closely with the neighbourhood of St. Mark in the Cherry Orchard (on Bath Road) and the two churches share the same vicar. We are also members of the Worcester South East Team, which means that we enjoy worshipping, working and sharing with St Martin's Church on London Road and St. Matthew's in Ronkswood.

The Eucharist is at the heart of our life as a church. As you will see from the "Sunday" page, we also have monthly all age services (lasting 45 minutes) which involve the children in the major church festivals of the year.  We also have a Book of Common Prayer (1662) service of Matins on the 5th Sunday of the month and  Evensong BCP Sundays  at 6.30pm on the 3rd Sunday of the month (during British Summer Time).  All morning services are at 11.00am.

If you have any queries or wish to arrange a baptism or wedding (funerals are normally arranged through the funeral director) please contact, in the first instance, the Team Administrator, Rebecca Caskie.  She is available in the Parish Office at St. Martin's Church (corner of London Road and Victoria Avenue, Worcester) on Weekday mornings 10am - 1pm, or phone 01905 358083. There is an answer phone at all other times.

We know it can be very difficult to pluck up the courage to walk into a new church for the first time, especially if you haven't been to church for a while. We want you to feel welcome and comfortable amongst us. Our sides people and/or any of our parishioners will be happy to give you as much, or as little, assistance as you desire. Your children are always welcome in our services (and we have toilets and changing facilities!)

If you would like to meet us and join in with our worship, we hope you'll also stay for refreshments and fellowship after the main service on Sunday. If you'd rather not, that's O.K. — we'll be glad you worshipped with us and we'll hope that you'll come again. If you just wanted to pop in for tea/coffee and a chat or a look around the church, we are open for "Yew Brew" most Saturday mornings from 10.00 a.m. until noon.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
